The Vacancy
Here at Wates, we have an opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our Property Services Planned team in the Midlands. This role focuses on projects within the social housing sector, so experience in a similar field is preferred.
You will manage a team of Project Managers and Site Managers, providing first-class service to clients and ensuring a sustainable, growing operational service in the Planned Maintenance Division.
The role involves acting as the interface between clients at monthly review meetings, delivering contracts to high standards, and maintaining KPIs & Health & Safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage regional delivery and motivate the team
* Lead with operational and commercial insight to influence profitability
* Ensure project governance, production control, and productivity monitoring
* Develop relationships with clients and attend progress meetings
* Procure work through industry contacts and strategic tendering
* Coordinate with supply chain partners to ensure compliance
* Monitor and approve financial forecasts
* Drive compliance and operational excellence
Successful candidates will have operational leadership experience, managing maintenance teams and projects from bidding to handover within time and budget constraints.
The role requires leadership, relationship-building, proactive risk management, and a commitment to high standards.
