Role: Anasthetics Consultant with interest in Chronic Pain Medicine

Salary: Circa £105,000 – £140,000

The development of the new hospital will play an important role in the regeneration of the wider area and in improving the lives of local people and reducing health inequalities.
The Trust are currently looking to bring on board an Anaesthetics Consultant to help with leading the Anesthetics Service on the MMUH and Sandwell sites.
Your role will largely be based at the new site offering the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment which will allow you fulfil your potential.

What we need from you:
* MRCP Qualified
* Entry on the Specialist Register (or CCT expected within 6 months from the date of interview)
* Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining CCT in Anasthesia
* Ability to work within your sub specialty interest whether that be Gynae-oncology, ENT, Colo-rectal, Orthopaedics Pre-assessment and/or Peri-operative Anaesthesia
* Ability to work well with colleagues and within a team
* Ability to motivate and develop the multi-disciplinary team, balancing departmental and personal objectives
* Ability to use the evidence base and clinical audit to support decision-making
* The ability to appraise junior doctors and other staff
Your duties will include:
* To collaborate and work to maintain Chronic Pain Medicine and anaesthetic services in line with strategic requirement
* To provide, with the other staff collegues in the specialty, an integrated Chronic Pain Management and anaesthetic Services operating a system of mutual out-of-hours cover, and cover for annual, study and professional leave
* To provide a consultation and advisory service to medical colleagues in other specialties in the Trust
* To develop appropriate services and techniques required to fulfil clinical leads
* To participate in the education and training of junior doctors, medical students, and registrars
* To liaise with medical staff in other specialties and participate in clinical meetings and postgraduate activities in the Trust
* To contribute to the development of pain management and anaesthesia services
* To demonstrate a firm commitment to the principles of clinical governance
