Job Purpose We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Working Team Leader to join our team. The successful candidate will facilitate performance for their respective shift team, ensuring they consistently exceed budget expectations. This role involves inspiring the team to maintain outstanding quality and delivery performance while focusing on cost management. The Working Team Leader will spend 20% of their time leading and organising, and 80% as a direct operator. Key Responsibilities Ensure the utmost focus and highest standards with respect to Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E). Act as the focal point for the team, ensuring issues and problems are highlighted and resolved quickly. Lead start-of-shift meetings and ensure all issues/actions are followed through. Facilitate effective communication, ensuring the timely flow of information. Achieve 100% customer satisfaction through on-time delivery and high-quality standards. Own and utilise business tools and metrics to drive team performance, such as TMS. Collaborate with the Value Stream Manager to enable, empower, and engage employees. Drive value improvement through Continuous Improvement (CI) actions and focus on cost awareness. Develop and maintain strong working relationships across the value stream and the business to foster teamwork and collective accountability. Operate directly 80% of the time. Personal Criteria Qualifications Essential: Good standard of education. Desirable: NVQ Level 2 or above. Maths GCSE at grade C or above (or equivalent). Experience Essential: Strong work experience within a manufacturing/engineering environment. Desirable: Treatments work experience (chemical wet processing). Previously employed/experience as a Process Operator. Experience leading a team of people. Knowledge & Skills Essential: The ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills within an engineering environment. Personal Qualities Essential: Ability to give instruction. Enjoys group/team work.
