Therapeutic Communities are an innovative, long-term intervention designed to reduce offending by transforming how rehabilitation is approached in prisons. Unlike traditional correctional methods, TCs focus on a holistic, community-based model where change happens through everyday interactions –not just formal therapy sessions. At HMP Dovegate, the TC is Democratic, meaning both employees and residents (prisoners) actively participate in shaping and running the community. Everyone has a voice, and every aspect of daily life is open for discussion and personal growth. Residents build meaningful relationships with each other and with staff, creating a supportive environment where therapy is continuous – happening all day, every day. This pioneering model empowers individuals to take ownership of their rehabilitation and fosters lasting change through shared experience and mutual accountability. Apply now If you’re ready to step into a senior role where you’ll make a measurable difference every day – and develop your career in one of the most unique therapeutic environments in the UK – we’d love to hear from you.
