Energy Advisor – Fixed Term (Up to 2 Years)
We are recruiting a senior advisor for the energy sectors, including combustion plants, waste incineration and refineries.
Responsibilities
* Provide expert support and technical leadership through advice, guidance, and training.
* Develop strategy for the sector and produce tools to regulate, support development and deliver environmental outcomes.
* Commission and manage external research projects where needed.
* Work with internal and external stakeholders such as Defra, DESNZ, internal operations teams, trade associations and other key industry players.
* Respond to incidents as required, keeping available for incident response or business continuity support.
* Assist with the definition of sector standards, top‑level guidance and training.
Qualifications
* Experience working in or regulating energy sectors, including combustion plants, waste incineration or refineries.
* Relevant technical and regulatory knowledge including control measures for emissions to air.
* Ability to build and maintain good relationships with colleagues, operators, partner regulators, government, trade bodies and academia.
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working within a team to achieve common goals.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.
