We're looking for a talented HGV technician to work for our client in Manchester Area.

The Role:
As an HGV Technician at our Trafford Account, you will ensure the maintenance and repair of waste trucks, contributing significantly to environmental and community well-being. You'll work in a modern workshop with 6 bays, heated and well-lit, equipped with a 4-post column ramp lift, two summer lifts, brake testing headlamp bay, parts room stocked by a third party, and an electric jetwash system. You will be part of a cohesive team, maintaining a fleet of 150 vehicles that are critical for waste management, fostering a cleaner and healthier environment for the community.
Pay will be £24.10 p/h. The standard weekly hours are 40hrs per week. Monday - Friday role - 6:30am - 3pm.
Responsibilities:
- using advanced diagnostic tools, dismantling and overhauling vehicle components
- maintaining vehicles and plant equipment
- completing documentation on tablets and PDAs
- ensuring health and safety protocols, performing road tests, and handling ad-hoc driving jobs.
What you'll do:
- Utilise advanced diagnostic tools to identify faults and execute effective repairs
- Dismantle and overhaul vehicle components to restore optimal functionality
- Maintain vehicles and plant equipment to ensure efficient operation
- Test equipment and tools, monitor workshop performance
- Perform road tests on vehicles to confirm safety and assist with roadside breakdowns, committing to ongoing professional development
- Ad-hoc driving jobs e.g. Taking a vehicle to get an MOT test etc
Requirements:
- City & Guilds in heavy vehicles, maintenance and repair, IRTEC, or NVQ certification
- Category C HGV license, Driver CPC holder
- Municipal experience
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- 2 year reference
