The job itself
This role attracts an additional enhancement for weekend working. The role requires weekend working as part of the normal work pattern (on a rota basis) for which an enhancement is paid. Based on the current rota the additional enhancement will be up to £2,965 per year on top of the yearly salary (making salary up to £30,219 - £30,659).
The Traffic and Parking Team are looking for an enthusiastic individual to assist the Parking Operations Manager, in providing an efficient and effective service of on-street parking enforcement and minimising the number of contraventions by motorists of the local parking regulations through the issuing of penalty charge notices (PCN's) including the Council's off-street car parks. The service will be undertaken in accordance with statutory legislation under the Traffic Management Act 2004, Part 6 (TMA) and Council policies. Successful applicants must wear full uniform and carry all equipment and identification while on duty and is to be based at the Beverley depot However, they will be required to patrol and enforce throughout the East Riding of Yorkshire.
A motorcycle license is desirable but not essential and all candidates are expected to complete the CBT course as part of their probation.
The postholder must be adaptable to work with changes to systems as necessary and have a flexible and positive outlook. Candidates will be expected to act with integrity and honesty, treat customers with respect and have a positive mental attitude with a "can do" approach. You will have the ability to learn and accommodate new ways of working and must be willing to undertake service specific training as necessary.
The postholder must be self-motivated and be able to work on their own initiative as the post requires lone working, the postholder will also assist with Council approved events on car parks and in the highway and provide guidance and information to members of the public.
