Responsible for overseeing and directing the Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control teams to ensure efficient execution of planned, corrective, and minor project support work activities. This includes the maintenance of turbo-machinery, rotating equipment, mechanical systems, electrical systems, instrumentation, HVAC, and cranes. The role ensures the health, safety, and well-being of all personnel and contractors under their supervision, whilst maintaining the integrity and operational efficiency of plant equipment. The Maintenance Superintendent ensures that all activities are performed in compliance with established plans, safety standards, and relevant maintenance procedures.
Responsibilities
* Implement and support the policies and programmes of the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management System.
* Prioritise HSE considerations in all activities within the scope of responsibility.
* Provide direct technical leadership and oversight to the Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control teams in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
* Ensure the quality and timeliness of work by adhering to technical standards and procedures, focusing on preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.
* Develop maintenance plans that align with business objectives, communicating expectations to the team to achieve goals effectively.
* Collaborate with colleagues in a multi-disciplinary, multicultural environment to optimise resource use, resolve issues, improve procedures, and ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.
* Apply operational knowledge to assess the impact of maintenance activities on production, particularly concerning turbine and compressor performance.
* Provide regular updates on maintenance progress, including technical reports as required by management.
* Oversee the preventive and corrective maintenance programmes for cranes, ensuring compliance with certification requirements.
Requirements:
* Completion of Secondary Education (10 years) followed by a 3-year Diploma or Apprenticeship in Electrical, Mechanical, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering.
* A minimum of 10 years of experience in the maintenance and overhaul of offshore electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation equipment, specifically high-speed gas turbine machinery and related plant in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry.
* In-depth knowledge of gas compression plant maintenance and operations.
