Join to apply for the Senior Quantity Surveyor role at Lanes Group.
We are looking for a qualified, experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor in our Commercial department. Your role will be to support commercial best practice to maximise value and minimise risk and cost for both Sapphire Utility Solutions and our customers. Accurately value works undertaken and where necessary provide records to substantiate cost, ensure change control process is managed effectively in both Main and Subcontract. Manage client relationships at contract level.
Location and Hours
* Location: Derby
* Hours of work: 40 hours per week
* Salary: £55,000 - £60,000
Responsibilities – But Not Limited To
* Contractual knowledge to communicate with relevant parties and understand terms and conditions.
* Work efficiently and calmly to tight deadlines or other stress factors as they arise.
* Ensure maximum recovery of all contractual entitlements.
* Use performance data to identify opportunities and implement commercial processes to realise entitlements and opportunities.
* Work closely with the Operational team.
* Ensure proper contractual administration of the contract, including value and cost control, and maintenance of records.
* Accurately value works undertaken and where necessary provide records to substantiate cost for prompt issue of applications for payment/invoices in line with contractual timescales.
* Support development of individuals within the commercial team.
* Accept extra duties as situations arise.
* Management of Subcontract Accounts.
Skills And Behaviours
* HNC in Quantity Surveying would be advantageous
* Undergraduate degree in Quantity Surveying or similar advantageous
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in utilities or civils industry desirable
* Experience in QS role or Senior Commercial role
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; Advanced Excel skills essential
* Strong commercial and financial acumen
* Strong knowledge of contracts
* Strong desire to maintain client relationships whilst not compromising contractual entitlement
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
