About the Role:
A growing and specialist construction business is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join its Coventry-based team. The successful candidate will support the delivery of energy-efficient refurbishment works within the social housing sector, working closely with local authorities, housing associations, and the wider commercial team.
This role is integral to ensuring cost-effective management across multiple refurbishment projects, with funding secured until at least 2028.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct cost estimation by reviewing architectural plans and assessing quantity requirements.
* Prepare contracts, tender documentation, and procurement schedules.
* Monitor budgets and manage variations throughout project delivery.
* Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants to offer expert cost-related guidance.
* Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
* Assist with cost analysis, risk management, and procurement planning.
* Monitor and report on project progress, valuations, and final accounts.
* Support negotiations with subcontractors and agreement of variations.
* Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and project reports.
Experience & Qualifications:
* A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Engineering, or a related field (preferred, but not essential).
* Minimum 2 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the social housing sector.
* Strong understanding of construction cost management, contracts, and procurement processes.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and financial management skills.
* Highly organised and detail-focused.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other industry-standard tools.
