Are you an experienced and motivated midwifery leader looking for your next challenge? NHS Forth Valley is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Clinical Midwifery Manager to provide professional leadership and operational management across our inpatient maternity services, Maternity Theatres and the Infant Feeding Service.
About The Role
As Clinical Midwifery Manager, you will hold 24-hour continuing responsibility for the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred care. You will lead on clinical and staff governance, ensuring high standards of practice and professional accountability across the service.
You Will
* Provide strategic and operational leadership to midwifery teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care aligned with national and local priorities.
* Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care, ensuring robust systems are in place to support clinical excellence.
* Lead on professional standards, care assurance, and contribute to achieving key performance targets, including reducing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and enhancing patient safety.
* Support the development and implementation of service improvements and quality initiatives, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
* Act as a key member of the maternity management team, deputising for the Department Manager/Head of Midwifery as required.
* Provide visible clinical leadership, supervision, and mentorship to ensure a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
* Manage resources effectively, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Clinical Governance, Caldicott, and Data Protection standards.
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated, forward-thinking midwife with:
* Significant post-registration experience in midwifery, including leadership roles.
* A strong track record in clinical governance, service improvement, and staff development.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
* A commitment to delivering safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care.
