ULTH maternity services is excited to invite you to become part of our team as a Triage / Antenatal assessment unit midwife.
As one of our Triage Midwives you'll provide high quality care, in alignment with the BSOTS framework, to women and birthing people. To thrive in this role you'll need to have excellent communication skills, a robust knowledge of midwifery practice and enjoy working in a busy environment.
Job responsibilities
The role will involve delivering high quality care for pregnancies in the maternity triage/antenatal assessment unit, working collaboratively with obstetric and wider multidisciplinary team.
Following the BSOTS Framework the triage midwife will:
* Undertake clinical assessment of maternal and fetal wellbeing over the telephone and in person.
* Provide immediate clinical care to women and birthing people.
* Plan, implement and evaluate immediate and ongoing care plans to promote the wellbeing of women, birthing people and babies.
* Provide advice to women, birthing people and families as required.
Qualifications
* Registered Midwife with the NMC
* Recognised teaching qualification
* Diploma in Midwifery
* Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development
* Recognised management qualification
* Degree in Midwifery

* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

* Awareness & Knowledge of the dignity in care agenda
* Ability to evidence/demonstrate key values and behaviours in line with the Trust framework: Patient Centred, Safety, Compassion, Respect and Excellence
Specific Requirements

* Skilled in multidisciplinary working
Previous Experience
* Completion of Trust Maternity
* Preceptorship pack or equivalent experience (e.g., perform Perineal suturing, IV Cannulation, IV Drug Additives, Phlebotomy)
* Able to undertake, interpret and apply appropriate research findings.
* Demonstrate involvement in clinical audit and standard setting.
* Skilled and updated in all spheres of midwifery practice
