Salary - Scale 5 - £29109.00 - £31296.00 per annum
Contract – Temporary for 12 months

About the role
Your role involves providing a comprehensive range of administrative functions within the Firearms Licensing Department, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, Home Office guidance, and force policy, with the primary goal of maintaining public safety.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Processing, analyzing, and assessing applications for the grant or renewal of firearm, shotgun, and explosive certificates, ensuring compliance with legislation and application requirements.
2. Interrogating the Police National Computer, Police National Database, and other intelligence systems to research applications and gather relevant information about applicants.
3. Conducting initial risk assessments of applications for the grant of certificates and forwarding these to the Firearms Enquiry Officer for further investigation.
4. Reviewing information related to renewal applications or inquiries, conducting risk assessments, and determining whether applications can be granted or require further review.
5. Performing clerical tasks related to the grant, renewal, and amendment of firearm, shotgun, and explosives certificates.
Educated to QCF Level 2 (3 to 5 passes in English and Maths) or equivalent work experience demonstrating comparable skills.
Extensive administrative experience in a customer-focused environment, providing excellent service.
