About us
Our team provides an Occupational Therapy service to Oban, Lorn and neighbouring islands on the north‑west coast of Scotland. We are an Integrated Occupational Therapy Team with the majority of the team being based in the Oban hospital, working primarily with the adult population in both in‑patient and community settings. We have a small team based on the Island of Mull, covering in‑patients and the communities of Mull & Iona. Our community visiting service covers the inner Hebridean islands of Colonsay, Coll and Tiree.
About the role
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner in Occupational Therapy to join the integrated Occupational Therapy service. This is a crucial role in terms of the smooth day‑to‑day running of the OT Team and you will support the Occupational Therapists with their caseloads, working flexibly across all aspects of our service. You will work under the supervision of registered Occupational Therapists and use specialist assessment and rehabilitation skills with your own caseload of less complex clients, supporting them to maximise their independence at home. The role also encompasses the provision of equipment and recommendations regarding minor and major adaptations.
About you
You should be confident, have great communication skills and either have an HNC in Occupational Therapy Support or a minimum of 3 years experience of working within a health or social care role. It is essential that you can drive, have excellent organisational and IT skills and an ability to prioritise a varied workload.
