Stock Controller – Food Manufacturing
Location: Site 1 Main Factory
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week between 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM (8 hours per day), Monday to Saturday
Contract Type: Permanent
Are you an experienced stock controller with a keen eye for detail and a background in food manufacturing? We're looking for a proactive and reliable Stock Controller to join our operations team at our busy production site.
About the Role
As a Stock Controller, you'll be responsible for the accurate recording and movement of stock across Site 1. Your work will be crucial in ensuring full traceability, supporting the delivery of production plans, and enabling efficient procurement and stock planning.
You will work closely with production, procurement, dispatch, and planning teams to maintain accurate stock levels, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Initial Responsibilities:
* Record all stock movements using our ERP system (Unity) and approved paperwork
* Maintain traceability of WIP (Work in Progress) stock across all areas of Site 1
* Perform accurate and timely stock counts
* Prepare and process stock transfers to dispatch and cold storage
* Manage physical stock movements between internal sites and through the tempering process
* Maintain a clean and efficient warehouse and storage environment
Progression Responsibilities (Post-Probationary period):
* Oversee goods-in processing for the Yard in Unity
* Manage supplier documentation including lot numbers, kill dates, and expiry dates
* Supervise the Yard Team and ensure accurate GRN (Goods Received Notes) recording
* Support stock reporting and variance analysis
* Liaise with Technical and Procurement teams for stock treatment and suspense stock movements
About You
Essential:
* Experience in food manufacturing or a similar environment
* Confident using stock control or ERP systems (e.g., Unity or equivalent)
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Effective communicator and team player
* Working knowledge of Excel
Desirable:
* HACCP and Level 3 Food Hygiene certifications
* Experience operating food production manufacturing
Working Environment
This role is primarily factory-based, with regular time spent in cold stores, yard areas, and offices. It may involve occasional transportation of stock between internal sites.
