Store Manager – Chelmsford, New Street (Co-op)
Location: Chelmsford, New Street
Base Pay
Salary: £33,500 – £37,000 per annum, plus great benefits.
Contract: Permanent
Responsibilities
* Guide commercial and community strategies to deliver the store's purpose.
* Lead and mentor the team to provide a fantastic Co‑op shopping experience.
* Empower staff to deliver excellent service and promote the Co‑op difference to customers and members.
* Build an inclusive culture where everyone can speak up and share their views.
* Develop the team through regular performance conversations to help them reach their potential.
* Ensure the store is safe, legal and operational.
* Manage and optimise the store's commercial performance, recruit new team members and oversee HR processes.
Qualifications
* Experience guiding and developing a team in a busy, service‑focused environment.
* Strong communication skills with an ability to coach, motivate and inspire staff.
* Resilience and excellent problem‑solving skills.
* Analytical ability to understand and interpret commercial information.
* Willingness to roll up sleeves and support the team with store activities.
