About the Role
The Anglican Diocese of Christchurch is seeking a highly organised and proactive Executive Assistant to provide direct support to the Bishop of Christchurch. This is a unique opportunity to work in a purpose‑driven environment where your skills will enable the Bishop to lead effectively across pastoral, civic, strategic, and national responsibilities.
Based on site and working Monday‑Friday 8:30am‑5pm, you will directly report to the Bishop managing his busy diary, coordinating events, preparing documentation, welcoming visitors, and ensuring the smooth running of the Office.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing correspondence, emails, and communications on behalf of the Bishop
* Preparing papers, briefings, and logistics for parish visits, services, meetings, and events
* Coordinating the Bishop’s diary, travel, and meeting arrangements
* Providing warm, professional hospitality to visitors and guests
* Minute‑taking for key internal meetings
* Supporting major diocesan events
* Maintaining clergy records, licensing processes, and the Bishop’s Official Acts
* Managing filing systems, archives, and confidential documentation
* Liaising with staff across the Anglican Centre and wider Diocese
What You’ll Bring
* Demonstrated experience as an EA, PA or Office Manager
* Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
* Strong organisational ability with a calm and proactive approach
* High levels of discretion, confidentiality, and sound judgement
* Confidence with digital tools, especially Outlook and electronic filing
* Ability to build positive relationships across a diverse community
* Alignment with the mission and values of the Anglican Church
