Faculty / Directorate The Faculty of Art Design and Humanities (ADH) is home to many of DMU's creative disciplines and humanities subjects and is one of the UK's leading Higher Education providers of creative disciplines. Working in a busy and dynamic administration team, we provide professional support service to our 5000 students and 300 members of staff across our 3 main buildings; the award-winning V J Patel Building, the Clephan Building and our Performing Arts Centre of Excellence. Role You will work as part of the academic team in the Centre for English Language Learning (CELL), teaching on our intensive Online Pre-sessional English Programme for international students preparing for university study. You will be expected to: Prepare and deliver live online classes in Academic English, using the Microsoft Teams platform. Support students through 1-1 and group tutorials. Assess students’ performance as appropriate. Work closely with co-tutors and the management team to ensure the success of the Programme. The role is on a full time basis with 15 contact hours per week. The contact hour pay rate of £49.48 factors in extra time for lesson preparation and assessment. Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have: An MA or Diploma in English Language Teaching or similar. If an MA does not have a minimum 5 hours of assessed teaching practice, an initial teaching qualification such as CELTA or TESOL is required. Experience of teaching and assessment on Pre-sessional courses at UK HEIs. Recent experience of providing online learning using a variety of tools such as MS Teams, Blackboard and other innovative software. The ability to cope with the demands of an intensive English programme. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, therefore you will need to be able to demonstrate that you have the right to work within the UK. £38,205 to £41,732. Grade F
