About the Role
As Town Planning Manager, you will lead the planning strategy for a diverse portfolio of strategic land projects, from site identification through to securing planning consents. You’ll work closely with internal teams, local authorities, consultants, and stakeholders to unlock development potential and drive value.
Key Responsibilities of the role;
* Lead the planning process for strategic land sites from inception to consent
* Prepare and manage planning applications, appeals, and representations
* Conduct site appraisals and planning risk assessments
* Engage with local authorities, stakeholders, and communities
* Manage external planning consultants and multidisciplinary teams
* Monitor changes in planning policy and assess implications for the business
* Support land acquisition strategy with planning due diligence
* Represent the company at public consultations, hearings, and inquiries
Key experiences we’re Looking For
We’re seeking a proactive and commercially aware planner with a strong grasp of the UK planning system and a passion for strategic land development.
Essential Experience & Skills:
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in town planning (public or private sector)
* MRTPI qualified (or working towards)
* Proven track record of managing planning applications and appeals
* Strong understanding of local and national planning policy
* Experience working on large-scale residential or mixed-use developments
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
* Commercial acumen and a strategic mindset
