Are you a skilled Sales Manager or Business Development Manager with a background in chemical product sales? We are a well-established and growing manufacturer of own-label chemical products serving diverse industries, primarily through distribution. We are looking to drive growth via strong account management, networking, and follow-up on leads generated from our marketing initiatives.

Location: South Derbyshire, covering the UK. Commutable locations include Derby, Nottingham, Burton on Trent, Loughborough, Leicester, Tamworth, Birmingham, Coventry, Lutterworth, Stoke on Trent, Dudley, Stafford, Rugby, Northampton, Telford, Sheffield, Mansfield.

Salary: Up to GBP 60,000

Job Description: Sales Manager / Business Development Manager specializing in chemicals, own-label products, and distribution. This hybrid role involves in-office work at least a couple of days per week, combined with customer visits. The focus is on developing existing distributor and wholesale relationships, as well as exploring new business opportunities with brands manufacturing bespoke own/private label products. Collaboration with R&D for product modifications and new developments is also key.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support and mentor two experienced sales professionals
* Develop sales through existing accounts and new leads
* Leverage relationships to access new sectors and companies
* Follow leads from marketing, referrals, and website inquiries

Person Specification:

* Proven success in sales, account management, and business development within the chemical industry (e.g., cleaning, hygiene, janitorial, industrial, automotive markets)
* Experience selling through distribution and directly to end-users
* Ability to develop and maintain key relationships
* Comfortable selling technical products from a features and benefits perspective
* Independent, driven, and strategic sales professional focused on margins
* Ability to engage at multiple levels, including C-suite
* Experience with private label or own-label products is advantageous
