About the Department:
FTP Department
The FTP department receives and investigates concerns about registrants’ fitness to practise, incorrect or fraudulently procured entries onto our register, protection of title offences, and provides an adjudication function through the HCPC Tribunal Service (HCPTS).
We employ around 130 people, responsible for delivering the HCPC’s FTP and adjudication work, managing an open caseload of approximately 2,000 cases.
FTP Legal Services
Since April 2024, we have been expanding our in-house legal services teams within the FTP Department. These teams include decision-making, presenting officers, investigation case management, oversight of cases held by external legal providers, and management of substantive order review cases.
About the role:
Purpose
We are establishing a new management role to support the operation and performance of our in-house FTP legal services teams.
Main Duties
The key responsibilities include:
* Management support for Presenting Officer hearing allocations, ensuring hearings have appropriate representatives.
* Providing case progression instructions to External Legal Providers (ELPs) during investigations before the Investigating Committee.
* Overseeing ELPs to ensure proactive case progression across caseloads not yet considered by the Investigating Committee.
