Job Description: Junior Project Accountant We are a small, thriving company based in Farnborough, delivering proofs of concept and high quality, focused IT consultancy. We are looking to recruit a Junior Project Accountant to join us on fast moving, innovative and influential work that is underway in the Defence and Security Sector. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Project Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting directly to the Head of Portfolio Accounting, the Junior Project Accountant will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial support to our projects, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints, and facilitating accurate financial reporting. We are looking for a full-time employee. Office-based (up to 5 days/week, with ad-hoc WFH options) Start Date: ASAP (June 2024) Essential Skills and Qualities: Excellent verbal communication. Experience: Experience in project accounting or financial management roles Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data and present data-driven options. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels. Proficiency in financial management software and tools, with the ability to leverage technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Qualifications: Hold a relevant accounting qualification, or be advanced in completion of the qualification (ACCA/CIMA/Equivalent) QBE Tasks / Responsibilities: Whole Life Project Support: Partner with Business Development, Operations, and finance teams to provide financial guidance, analysis, and ensure financial compliance for the entire life of a project, from pricing through to the project closedown review. Financial Planning and Analysis: Assist in the development and maintenance of project budgets, forecasts, and financial models in collaboration with project managers and stakeholders. Cost Tracking and Control: Monitor project expenditure against budget allocations, identify variances, and provide analysis to support decision-making and cost control efforts. Financial Reporting: Prepare and distribute timely and accurate financial reports, including variance analysis, cash flow projections, and other relevant financial metrics, to project stakeholders and management. Billing and Invoicing: Coordinate project billing and invoicing activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual agreements and project timelines. Revenue Recognition: Collaborate with project teams to ensure proper recognition of revenue and costs in accordance with project milestones and accounting standards. Financial Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, providing guidance and support to project teams as needed. Project Documentation: Maintain organised and up-to-date financial records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes. Stakeholder Communication: Act as a key point of contact for project-related financial inquiries, providing timely and accurate information to project managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
