Job Description
A vacancy has arisen within balance of site programme for a safety case programme manager. The purpose of the post is to coordinate safety case preparation, review, resources and to interface with project managers to assist in the delivery of safety case submissions in line with the sites project programme. The job holder will be responsible for supporting the production of accurate safety cases in conjunction with authority to operate (ATO) holders, project managers, and safety case officers. This may include the use of the supply chain for production of safety cases

The safety case team within the balance of site programme provides support across a wide range of projects, from minor plant upgrades and periodic reviews to major construction projects.
We are seeking an individual with experience in managing contractors to help deliver safety case-related services in alignment with the programme. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of project delivery and be capable of working with the supply chain to ensure effective support to the safety team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and review of organisational process, standards and methodologies for nuclear safety cases to reflect good practice and legislation
- Establish the scope and strategy for the production/development of nuclear safety cases throughout the life of the site/facility
- Ensure correct implementation of changes to organisational process, standards and methodologies for nuclear safety cases
- Undertake technical reviews as required
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders involved with safety cases
- Develop and maintain the safety case resource planning schedule/programme and effective resource utilisation including the use of external contractors.
- Perform the responsibilities of management appointments relevant to the post
- Manage Dounreay staff as a line manager
Qualifications and experience:
- Degree in Science/Engineering/Business or equivalent qualification plus experience
- Comprehensive project management experience
- Experience in the production of Nuclear safety cases.
- Experience in the management of external contractors to deliver safety cases
- Post specific capability assessment
