We are delighted to announce that an exciting opportunity has arisen to join a new BCUHB development in Women’s Health as part of The NHS Wales Women’s Health Plan 2025-2035. Main duties of the job This secondment opportunity is based within BCUHB Clinical Health Psychology Services and is fixed term until the end of March 2026. The successful postholder will work alongside a multidisciplinary team addressing issues related to Women’s Health. Focussing initially on addressing Menopause and Menstrual Health, 2 of the 8 Priority Areas identified by the Welsh Government as necessary to improve Women’s Health across Wales. The postholder will undertake clinical work providing CBT for Menopause and develop group interventions as part of a pilot. Service development and supporting opportunities to develop future services to support Women’s Health here in North Wales will also be a significant part of the role. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities The successful candidate will also be a member of the BCUHB Health Clinical Psychology Department, which is a supportive, friendly and growing department of Clinical Psychologists working within physical health services across BCUHB and has strong links with the North Wales Clinical Psychology Programme. The post provides the ideal opportunity to take on a senior role in the development of a Clinical Health Psychology Service for this a highly specialised client group. Person specification Qualifications & Experience Essential criteria Good Honours degree in Psychology Registration with Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical Psychologist. Doctoral level advanced specialist knowledge of clinical psychology theory and practice, psychological therapies and their application, neuropsychological and psychometric assessment and interpretation. Desirable criteria Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice. Knowledge of the theory and practice of highly specialised psychological therapies and assessment methodologies. Experience Essential criteria Substantial assessed experience of working as a qualified and senior clinical psychologist, normally including significant post-qualification experience within the designated speciality where the post is located, or relevant transferable skills. Assessed experience of working effectively as a qualified and senior level clinical psychologist in the designated speciality, or relevant transferable skills. Desirable criteria Experience of representing psychology within the context of multi-disciplinary care. Aptitude And Abilities Essential criteria Well-developed skills in effectively communicating very complex, highly technical and clinically sensitive information, both orally and in writing, to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS. Desirable criteria Ability to demonstrate leadership and management skills.
