The Role As a Site Manager at T J Atkin Ltd, you'll oversee your site throughout each stage of the project making sure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to our high standards. You'll be the key link between the office and the site, managing subcontractors, coordinating materials and labour, and keeping the project moving in line with programme and budget. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership, practical problem-solving, and a genuine passion for delivering quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee all site activities, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Maintain a strong health and safety culture, leading by example and enforcing site standards. Carry out site inductions, briefings, and toolbox talks for all personnel. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour to meet project deadlines. Work closely with the Project Manager to monitor progress, quality, and cost control. Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, delivery notes, and reports. Ensure all works comply with design specifications, drawings, and company procedures. Take responsibility for the quality of workmanship and ensure attention to detail across all trades. Liaise with clients, consultants, and local authorities in a professional and proactive manner. Support the wider T J Atkin Ltd team with planning and sequencing of works, and assist in resolving site issues as they arise. Skills & Experience Essential: Proven experience managing construction sites. Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and legislation. Excellent knowledge of health, safety, and environmental management. Ability to lead teams and coordinate multiple subcontractors effectively. SMSTS and CSCS (appropriate level). First Aid at Work certification. Excellent IT and communication skills. Full UK driving licence. Desirable NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management or equivalent. Temporary works knowledge or training. Experience with design and build projects. Personal Qualities A strong leader with a proactive, "get it done properly" attitude.
