Are you an experienced band 2 nursing assistant looking for a challenge and interested in working in one of our rewarding medical wards.
Are you already a band 3 Senior nursing assistant who would like to challenge themselves to a different environment or reduce your working hours.
We have permanent part-time (23hrs a week) positions available on three of our medical wards and a 3month secondment opportunity available on our winter ward
Our medical wards are 28-bedded wards. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are caring and kind to join our fantastic teams which are really friendly, diverse and supportive. We promote best practice and clinical excellence and you can become part of this.
This role will allow you to develop and gain a range of additional skills which will enhance your own personal development whilst contributing to the high standard of care expected on our wards.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, experienced nursing assistants. You will need to have excellent communication and time management skills.
Team work is very important to us - you will be joining a committed team so being a team player is essential.
We really value our Nursing Assistants' role in our ability to provide holistic care to our patients. You will need a flexible approach, be dedicated and able to role model an excellent level of patient care and experience.
The Senior Nursing Assistants also have a leadership role, supporting students, and also the newly qualified registered nurses.
We actively support the buddy programme and other opportunities to develop further. Some of our Nursing assistants have gone on to be successful applicants to the Apprentice Nursing Associate programme.
This is a part time position including days, nights and weekends.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
In order to be part of our Senior Nursing Assistant (Band 3) team, we would like you to have the following qualifications:
Substantial experience in a hospital setting
Evidence of General Education GCSE or equivalent / NVQ III in Healthcare
Completed Care Certificate Programme
A calm and kind approach
Willingness to learn and develop knowledge and skills in caring for complex patients with medical conditions.

Essential criteria
1. Able to communicate effectively with staff, colleagues and patients, updating the team and using handover effectively
2. Has completed the UK Care Certificate or equivalent (Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate or diploma or an IEN qualification)
3. Evidence of general education GCSE’s or equivalent.
Skills

4. Proven ability to work within a team as well as on own initiative
5. Able to listen effectively and demonstrate a sympathetic/sensitive approach
6. Ability to undertake venepuncture
