We will be recruiting to a talent pool which, once we have filled our immediate vacancies, will be maintained for a period of 12 months.
Our Daventry Fire Control room is the first point of contact for members of the public with Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service when an emergency arises. A Firefighter Control answers emergency calls using specialised techniques in order to support and protect callers in potentially life-threatening situations whilst mobilising fire resources. The role is demanding and challenging and involves a rigorous selection process, with only candidates of the highest calibre succeeding.
Our Daventry-based Control Room operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and successful candidates must be able to work a shift system.
To succeed in this role, a Firefighter Control must be able to process information quickly, prioritise tasks, and work calmly under pressure. They must also work effectively in a team and possess excellent communication skills.
