Overview

In the midst of a materials revolution, innovation is moving forward at an unprecedented speed. TA Instruments and Waters are working together to support a wide array of markets and measurements, helping you become a key player in developing new materials. This role reports to the Commercial Vice President, TA Instruments, managing sales and marketing teams, and is responsible for strategic planning, performance metrics, and achieving sales targets. The position can be based anywhere in the US.


Typical Tasks

1. Develop a 3-year commercial strategy aligned with TA's goals.
2. Create accurate sales forecasts and performance goals.
3. Oversee staffing, training, and performance evaluations.
4. Engage with key clients, supporting sales negotiations and relationship management.
5. Manage Commercial Marketing and inside sales activities.
6. Align Field Scientific operations with customer needs.
7. Optimize processes and control expenditures.
8. Monitor competitive activities and participate in trade shows.
9. Assign territories, develop quotas, and design compensation plans.
10. Contribute to marketing and product development discussions.
11. Build and develop a high-performing team.
12. Utilize data tools (SFDC / Power BI) for decision-making.
13. Manage project goals and organizational talent development.


Candidate Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or technology; MBA or master's preferred.
* 10+ years managing technical sales teams.
* Strong strategic planning and forecasting skills.
* Experience with analytical instrumentation industry preferred.
* Leadership skills with cross-functional team management experience.
* Ability to operate in ambiguous environments and influence change.
* Effective public speaking skills.

Salary range: $191,500 - $255,000 annually, based on experience and location.
