Are you a qualified Clinical Physiologist looking to join an enthusiastic and dynamic team in the south east of England? Join Southend University Hospital by the sea where we strive to provide high quality care for every patient, every time.
We have a 12-month fixed-term Band 6 Clinical Physiologist opportunity in the Heart and Chest department (Cardiorespiratory) to help with increasing demand. The unit provides a wide range of cardiac and respiratory invasive and non-invasive investigations including Echocardiography, ambulatory monitoring, pacing, complex device implants and follow-up, left and right heart catheterisation, physiologist-led ILR implantation service, Holter monitoring and ETT stress echo.
You should already hold the BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent and either have or be looking to gain AHCS registration and be willing to maintain CPD.
Responsibilities
Your role will be to carry out a wide range of cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures to a specialist level, ensuring accurate outcomes and high-standard reports. You will work effectively within a wide multidisciplinary team, upholding Trust values of Respectful, Excellent and Compassionate, and assist in training apprentice Physiologists and Student Physiologists within the department.
You will undertake work in a timely and efficient way, meeting deadlines and keeping senior colleagues informed of changes in your own technical workload. You will maintain clinical documentation and databases as directed, participate in data provision for statistical analysis, and adhere to departmental standards of record keeping regarding accuracy, timeliness of completion and confidentiality.
You will be expected to exercise initiative and judgement in solving problems related to your own technical workload, while keeping others informed and seeking guidance from senior colleagues when appropriate.
Your role will involve dealing with telephone queries from patients, relatives, general practitioners, etc., in a calm and professional manner, providing testing in the community where appropriate, and any other duties as requested by the Senior Chief Clinical Physiologist and Principal Physiologist.
