Your New Role
Based within a global manufacturingpany, this skilled technical maintenance role will offer the opportunity to work on production machinery within a fast-moving, highly automated environment. This position is purely “hands-on” and you will work on a wide range of bespoke equipment, including mechanical, electro-pneumatics and electrical control systems.
Reporting to the shift supervisor / department manager, you will attend, assess and repair mechanical, pneumatic or electrical breakdowns and find suitable fixes to reduce downtime.
Whilst on shift your core duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Working on shift with a small team of production operatives and shift supervisor • Provide technical support to ensure production targets are delivered and quality standards are maintained • On occasions you will lead the shift and provide production cover at break times • To liaise with the other departments and effectivelymunicate any current or potential issues that may impact equipment downtime or quality concerns • Ensure all aspects of health & safety are implemented in accordance withpany guidelines • Use your developed knowledge, fault-finding and engineering skills to reduce downtime and repair production equipment in a busy fast-moving environment • The ability to work under pressure.
What You'll Need To Succeed
In order to be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate the following skills, experience and qualifications:
Essential criteria
Have a recognised 3rd level qualification in an engineering discipline • Able to work a continental shift pattern • Have transferable skills from a previous multi-skilled maintenance role • Experience of fault diagnosis on mechanical / pneumatic systems and repair • Good bench-fitting skills • Be self-motivated with a positive mindset and demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude • Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment • Possess apetency with generalputer applications • Strong written and verbalmunication skills.
Desirable criteria
Minimum 5 years technical experience in a high-speed production environment • Machining skills (milling, turning, welding etc.) • Experience of equipment installation.
