Wessex Community Action is an independent charity providing infrastructure support to the voluntary, community, and social enterprise sector across the Wessex region. Based in Salisbury, we advocate for the voluntary sector by connecting, representing, and advising voluntary and community organizations. Our aim is to empower organizations and volunteers to deliver positive impacts to their communities.
HOURS: 14 per week (across 2 days)
Job Purpose:
To support and facilitate the development, growth, and sustainability of volunteering across the VCSE sector in Wiltshire.
The key activities include:
* Providing advice, guidance, and support to VCSE organizations and key partners on:
- Volunteer management policy and governance
- Recognition of the contribution of volunteers
* Leading on the Lottery-funded Volunteer Champions programme and developing volunteering on the Wiltshire Together portal.
* Hosting and facilitating the Volunteer Managers Forum, a peer training and support network of volunteer managers across Wiltshire.
* Promoting volunteering at key events, e.g., activities for Volunteer’s Week.
Strategic development:
* Building an understanding of volunteering activity and related key issues across Wiltshire.
* Promoting volunteering within Wiltshire.
Contributing to WCA's overall work:
* Supporting WCA in pursuing its mission, vision, and values through staff meetings and collaboration with colleagues.
* Providing regular reports to the WCA Board of Trustees and meeting reporting requirements for this Lottery-funded role.
* Adhering to all WCA policies and procedures and upholding its values and principles.
* Actively involving and supervising any apprentices/volunteers related to this role.
* Performing any other duties related to the post.
This role is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
