🛠️ Network Engineer
Rate: ÂŁ375/day Outside IR35
Initial 3 months rolling contract with long-term plans for 15 months
Glasgow (2 Days/Week Onsite – may reduce over time)
A leading organisation is seeking a Network Engineer to support day-to-day BAU operations across Cisco, F5 (or alternatives) and Check Point (or alternatives) environments.
We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience in enterprise networking and security, Firewalls and Load Balancers —not deep vendor-specific specialism.
Cisco Networking
* Switching & Routing
* Cisco Nexus (7k, VDC, FEX)
* OSPF, route maps, filters
Security Platforms
* Cisco ASA, Check Point, Palo Alto, Fortinet/FortiGate, Juniper SRX
* VPNs, Threat Prevention, Next-Gen Firewalls
Application Delivery / Load Balancing
* F5 LTM, APM, AFM, BIG-IP
* Alternatives: Citrix ADC/NetScaler, Kemp LoadMaster, AWS/Azure/GCP Load Balancers, Nginx, HAProxy
Core Competencies
* Advanced troubleshooting across multi-vendor environments
* High proficiency in packet capture & analysis

* Configure, maintain & troubleshoot Cisco switching, routing & Nexus platforms
* Manage firewalls and security solutions (Cisco ASA, Check Point, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper SRX)
* Implement and support F5 or alternative ADC/load balancing services
* Perform packet captures and deep-dive analysis
* Conduct network/security health checks & posture reviews
* Support wireless and WAN technologies
* Configure and maintain monitoring solutions (SolarWinds)
