Hospital & Community Pharmacy Technician
The closing date is 12 January 2026
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician, with good communication and teamwork skills. If you are able to work under pressure and keen to develop yourself, we would like to hear from you. We are keen to develop the roles of our technical staff and support their training and progression. We welcome applications from Pre‑registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians registering in 2025. The Technical Team has a great reputation for providing excellent ward-based and community services. You will need excellent organisational skills to undertake this role, work accurately and quickly under pressure, have a good eye for detail, prioritise your workload, meet deadlines and be committed to the delivery of high standards in a patient‑focused service.
If you do not have the required experience/qualifications to meet the Band 5 position, you will be appointed to Band 4 Pharmacy Technician and are expected to achieve the qualifications and experience required to progress to a Band 5 post. There will be a requirement to participate in working extended hours, late nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.
Main duties of the job
You will gain experience of dispensing, ward‑based medicines management duties, medication reviews in community settings and clinical trials. You will have the opportunity, once trained, to work as part of a clinical technical service team that involves recording patient medication history and processing discharges at ward and community level. You will also participate in full dispensary duties.
