The role
As a Senior Commissioning Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. As the Ministry of Defence’s commercial partner at HMNB Clyde, Babcock provides specialist engineering support services, including the management of infrastructure and nuclear facilities. We also deliver operational maintenance, upgrades, and repairs to support Royal Navy vessels, including the Vanguard and Astute-Class nuclear submarines.
Responsibilities
* Motivating, mentoring and coaching team members and providing line managerial support.
* Supervising Test Engineers in conducting Submarine Commissioning, Testing and Calibration activities in accordance with the Clyde Safety Management Arrangements
* Liaison with Joint Planning Teams to ensure work is planned and resourced effectively.
* Support implementation of the Company Safety, Quality and Environmental policies in the Commissioning Group area of the business, ensuring that risks assessments are carried out for safe working practices and attitudes.
* Support the writing of Test Forms/procedures with the Test Engineers.
* Maximising the utilisation and the efficiency of the Test Engineers.
This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at Faslane, Clyde. Hybrid working is available.
Essential Experience Of The Senior Commissioning Engineer
* You must have experience leading and training test teams.
* It is desirable for you to have experience working on Combat Systems.
Qualifications For The Senior Commissioning Engineer
* You must have an Electrical Qualification.
