Role Overview
We are looking for a Consultant Radiologist with an interest in Cardiac radiology to support our two full‑time cardiac radiologists covering a sabbatical and sick leave. Bristol is a large volume, tertiary adult and paediatric centre for cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery, with a well‑established cardiac CT and MRI service.
Responsibilities
* Assist the cardiac radiology team in covering acute CT and MRI diagnostics.
* Provide adult diagnostic radiology on call.
* Take part in the general work of the department, including adult congenital heart disease and cardiothoracic MDTs.
* Comply with all relevant Trust policies regarding patient care, triage of requests, completion of discharge summaries, management of no‑show patients (DNA) and all required administrative paperwork.
* Work with service managers and clinical colleagues to manage caseloads flexibly, ensuring clinical, national and local priorities—such as maximum waiting times for referral to treatment—are achieved.
* Collaborate with cardiac radiology staff, cardiac fellows, radiology specialist registrars, radiographers and radiology nurses to deliver high‑quality care.
