Scottish Power are looking for a Financial Performance Analyst to join them on a 6 month contract. Role: Financial Performance Analyst Business: Scottish Power Location: Glasgow/hybrid style working Duration: 6 month contract Job Purpose Statement The Scottish Power Customer Business provides energy to millions of households and businesses across the UK offering fair pricing and a choice of tariffs to suit customer needs. In addition, the Business offers products that help customers control and protect the energy in their homes and the flexibility to help customers manage their energy accounts today, tomorrow and in the future which are all under the management of the Smart Solutions department in which this role is based. Reporting to the Senior Business Development and Performance Manager, as the Financial Performance Analyst you are responsible for the provision of all financial calculations in relation to Budgets, Forecasts & Business Plan for all margins and operating costs in the highly complex area of Smart Solutions. The role works across all market segments and is central to providing the Customer Business Management team (UK & Global) with analysis to enable them to make appropriate operational, commercial and strategic decisions. Accountability Statements Produce Smart Solutions Budget forecasts and 10-Year Business Plan in line with the overall Iberdrola Global Liberalised business strategy, in line with defined timetable. Prepare summarised P&L across the full smart solutions portfolio, by product segment with informative commentary to meet specified deadlines. Develop a deep understanding of margins, costs and profitability within Customer Business, across all product segments (Home energy services, home energy management and low carbon technology) and margin components – including customer numbers, demand, energy / non-energy costs with an ability to challenge these assumptions. Develop an understanding of retail operating costs and the drivers of these with the ability to challenge these assumptions. Support the development and management of new Domestic product target margins. Design, implement, communicate and maintain a new product level Gross Margin target metrics to assess budget/forecast product profitability of new product proposal valuations. Coordinator of the product revenue budget and forecast submissions between the Senior Revenue Growth Managers and Senior Product and Partner Manager. Populate the business templates that are required to calculate Gross Margin data for budgets/forecasts and support on system usage, report downloads and uploads. Produce weekly/monthly reports and prepare meaningful outputs and analysis on actual performance against Budgets and Forecasts and carry out ad-hoc analysis in relation to Senior Management requests relating to profitability. Skills, Knowledge & Experience Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a numerate or business-related subject. Highly driven and focussed with strong commercial, financial and due diligence skills. Proven track record of precision, accuracy and attention to detail essential. Ability to work to tight deadlines and within a highly pressurised environment. Experience in developing robust financial analysis and presenting this in a clear, concise and summary format to Senior Management and Director levels. Highly evolved interpersonal and communication skills and ability to form effective working relationships across all levels of the organisation. Ability to build relationships and influence across a wide range of stakeholders. Self-motivated with ability to manage time effectively. Advanced practical knowledge of IT desktop tools including advanced spreadsheet modelling skills. An orientation towards teamwork is essential. Minimum Criteria Commercial delivery experience An understanding of electricity and gas markets and smart solutions Proven track record of precision, accuracy and attention to detail essential Skilled communicator with effective influencing skills Ability to manage multiple deliverables and remained focussed on priorities and delivery Highly numerate and analytical mindset Advanced practical knowledge of IT desktop tools including advanced spreadsheet modelling skills. Advanced experience using SAP financials
