Role Overview
We're looking for a detail‑driven and collaborative Management Accountant to join our Finance team, focusing on grants and audit activity. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in ensuring our grant‑funded programmes are accurate, compliant and well managed while working closely with teams across the organisation.
Responsibilities
* Owning end‑to‑end grant claim processes, ensuring submissions are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time
* Managing calculations, reporting, and reconciliations for grant‑funded activity
* Partnering with project, PMO, and finance colleagues to improve the accuracy and efficiency of grant processes
* Supporting external audits, acting as a key contact for auditors and providing required information
* Producing grant rate calculations (labour, equipment, and overheads) in line with funder requirements
* Monitoring grant spend and providing regular updates to budget holders
* Delivering monthly reconciliations between the General Ledger and grant claims
* Providing wider support across Finance, including statutory audit activity and ad hoc reporting
Qualifications
* Part‑qualified or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
* Experience working with large data sets to produce accurate financial outputs
* Strong analytical skills with a "right‑first‑time" mindset
* Experience supporting audits, compliance or working with auditors
* Confident communicator, able to explain complex financial information clearly
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across teams
* Organised and adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities to tight deadlines
Desirable
* Experience in a project or grant‑funded environment
* Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365 F&O)
