About the Job
We are looking for a Production Engineering Lead to own day-to-day production readiness, performance and scalability of our propulsion systems. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and operations, ensuring that released designs can be built repeatedly, predictably and at pace.
The Production Engineering Lead is accountable for production execution, flow, yield and output. You will lead the engineering effort on the shop floor, removing blockers, improving build efficiency and ensuring production targets are met as the business scales.
The function needs to scale production from hundreds to thousands of units this year.
What You’ll Do
* Own production engineering support for live builds, acting as the primary engineering interface to the shop floor
* Ensure released designs are production-ready, stable and buildable at required rates
* Drive improvements in production flow, throughput and yield
* Lead resolution of build issues, deviations and non-conformances impacting delivery
* Support first‑time‑right builds through clear build sequences, engineering sign‑off and change control
* Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering on handover from engineering to production
* Own input into production planning, capacity readiness and line balancing
* Support quality investigations and corrective actions from a production perspective
* Define and track production KPIs, identifying and addressing performance gaps
* Lead and develop a small team of production engineers as production scales
Desirable Qualifications, Experience & Attributes
* Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Production or Manufacturing Engineering
* Strong experience supporting live production in aerospace, automotive or other high‑reliability manufacturing environments
* Proven track record of improving production performance (throughput, yield, delivery)
* Comfortable working directly on the shop floor in fast‑paced, build‑focused settings
* Experience managing engineering change in a production environment
* Clear understanding of the interface between design, manufacturing and quality
* Confident technical leader able to make pragmatic, risk‑aware decisions under pressure
* Strong communication skills with the ability to align engineering and operations teams
* Bias toward action, ownership and delivery
