PURPOSE OF JOB To schedule, control and procure bought-out items to meet Customer and Manufacturing order demand. To set up, analyse and maintain material planning data on SAGE/Sicon. Microsoft proficient. MAIN TASKS Ultimately to manage, control and take overall ownership of all material related activity. Use MRP to schedule, control and highlight purchase requirements for bought-out items to meet internal/external customer and manufacturing order requirements. Maintain the internal Supplier Chase procedures with external suppliers to ensure material is acquired to meet production requirements. Enforce, manage and review all correspondence between the Sales Order Progress and Manufacturing Order Scheduling departments to ensure continual flow of accurate delivery information to reps and customers. Advise Management of potential production shortages and problems. Proactively expedite items and propose/implement alternative solutions when necessary to meet customer demand. Work with internal staff, and where necessary directly with the suppliers, to reduce costs and improve delivery/quality performance. Continually optimise bought-out raw material and purchased component stock levels to maximize product availability and minimize stock / costs. Co-ordinate sub-assembly manufacture with Manufacturing Dept. Liaise with the Sales and Manufacturing with regards to component lead times and availability for current orders/new enquiries/forecasts. Manage slow moving/obsolete stock in accordance with Company policies. Other duties as assigned. Ensure observance of Company policies and standards.
