Our client Northern Ireland Housing Executive, requires a Groundsperson located in Ballymoney. Role: Groundsperson Rate of Pay: £13.05 Location: Ballymoney Hours: 37 - Monday-Thursday: 8am-4:30pm & Friday: 8am-1pm Duration: Up to two months, with possible extension. Operational Responsibilities Operate and maintain grounds maintenance machinery (e.g., mowers, strimmers, hedge cutters, chainsaws, rotovators). Use hand tools such as secateurs, spades, forks, and spraying equipment. Maintain grassed areas and shrub beds including planting, pruning, weeding, reseeding, watering, and tree care. Carry out litter collection and remove debris such as fly-tipping and rubble from estates and public areas. Apply pesticides and weed killers safely. Load and unload equipment, materials, and waste. Perform minor maintenance and running repairs on machinery. Report hazards that may lead to public liability claims. Provide good customer service while working on behalf of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and ensure tenant safety. Performance and Safety Complete job records accurately using paperwork or electronic devices. Work efficiently to meet targets and deadlines. Follow Health & Safety legislation, risk assessments, and COSHH procedures for chemicals. Use PPE and equipment safely and report accidents or incidents. Work with colleagues and contractors to complete jobs on time. Requirement Full driving licence including B1+E / C1+E categories. Minimum 1 year experience in grounds maintenance or using commercial grounds machinery (e.g., mowers, tractors). Practical knowledge of Health & Safety legislation in a maintenance environment. Ability to perform heavy lifting duties. Full driving licence (B+E) or willing to obtain within 3 months (C1E desirable). Desirable NPTC / NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture and/or a spraying certificate.
