Akari Care is an award‑winning care home that values, respects, and provides personalized care for elderly residents. We are looking for an Activities Coordinator to make a real and positive difference to the lives of older people.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the Home Manager and community teams to plan and deliver a wide range of activities that reflect the tastes, abilities, and cultures of residents.
* Encourage residents to maintain existing hobbies and to try new ones, promoting diversity and inclusion.
* Support and motivate colleagues, relatives and friends to participate in activities and enrich residents’ daily life.
* Accompany residents to off‑site events where possible.
* Assist with fundraising, budgeting and procurement of entertainment, materials and outings.
* Maintain a supportive, caring and safe environment that upholds dignity and respect for all residents.
Qualifications
* Previous experience working in a similar environment or role.
* A caring nature with the ability to give a personal approach to everyone.
* Flexible and adaptable to changes at short notice.
* Able to work well under pressure without negatively impacting those around you.
* Warm, approachable, engaging, outgoing and infectious personality.
* Respectful of others and treats all with dignity and equality.
* Resilient and adaptable to differing needs of colleagues and residents.
