SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a team, providing support to children and young people with emotional, behavioural, social, and communication difficulties. The role requires a proactive individual who can work closely with teachers to enhance the learning environment and ensure the welfare of students.
Day to day of the role:
1. Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons.
2. Work closely with designated children, following the teacher’s guidance on work and play activities.
3. Provide general support for behaviour management and assist the teacher with classroom tasks.
4. Accompany students who leave the classroom and monitor students outside of class times.
5. Familiarise with all school policies, rules, health & safety, and legal requirements and work in accordance with them.
6. Assist with lesson preparation and paperwork upkeep.
7. Be available to transport students to off-site activities, using the school van or own car if necessary.
