Overview
Avery Healthcare is one of the UK's largest providers of luxury elderly care homes. As a Commis Chef, you will be part of an award-winning team, supporting the preparation and delivery of high-quality culinary services to residents. Responsibilities
* Assist the Chef de Partie in preparing food and performing basic cooking tasks.
* Work in different areas of the kitchen, such as vegetables, fish and meat, and sauces, usually on a six-month rotation programme.
* Support all chefs to manage and deliver catering services throughout the home, ensuring resident choice, dignity, confidentiality, and safety are maintained.
* Participate in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss and agree on catering functions across the home and address residents\' special needs or dietary requirements, including knowledge of cultural and religious preferences.
* Prepare nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, promptly and in accordance with agreed mealtimes.
* Prepare special diet meals as needed and as directed by the Chefs.
About You

* Hold a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent.
* Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
* Have a minimum of 1-year catering experience.
* Demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality culinary services to residents.
* Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
