About the role
The role of the Locum Business Manager (known internally as Locum Agency Manager) is centered around leading people and striving for high performing teams. You'll develop and train staff to perform at their best for customer benefit. Recruiting and motivating team members, you'll enjoy autonomy, responsibility, and creative decision-making. You’ll also be part of the Scotland Regional Leadership team.
You will support agency partners as needed to ensure seamless customer service during challenges or opportunities, working with different teams and offices for variety.
Our Scottish agencies vary from £5m to over £20m gross written premium income, all with self-employed leaders. This role offers a unique chance to develop leadership skills in often pressurized situations requiring resilience, calmness, and creativity.
When not in the field, you may work from home. We offer flexibility to support work-life balance. The role focuses on agencies in North or South Scotland, with occasional support for other locations.
This role complies with Insurance Distribution Directive requirements, including ongoing CPD and re-screening to ensure "Good Repute". Further details are in the FCA Handbook.
About you
Experience in insurance is required, preferably with NFUM product knowledge and licensing, though broader insurance knowledge is acceptable. Willingness to travel frequently is necessary. Key skills include:

* Resilience and autonomy
* Creative decision-making under pressure
Adaptability, motivation, organization, and relationship-building skills in a regulated environment are also important.
