The role involves installation, servicing, and repair of mechanical equipment, as well as supporting electrical teams on mechanical aspects of site work. You will play a key role in maintaining and improving mechanical assets while ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Monitor and report project progress, highlighting any work outside of scope Test mechanical systems and equipment using appropriate testing devices Inspect mechanical systems and components to identify hazards or faults Assemble, install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment using hand and power tools Carry out mechanical tasks including pump replacement, screen installation, pipework installation, alignments, valve troubleshooting, and fault finding Perform planned preventative maintenance on pumping systems and associated equipment Ensure response times and service requirements are met Support emergency and shutdown works when required Complete point-of-work risk assessments Follow and understand risk assessments and method statements Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and site layouts Requirements GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths Completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification Experience within an engineering or mechanical environment CSCS card (or equivalent) Desirable (not essential): EUSR Water & Sewage PASMA IPAF Confined Space (High Risk) Abrasive Wheels Working knowledge of pumps, pipework, motors, and screening equipment Previous experience working in a site-based engineering environment Strong work ethic with good communication skills Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
