We are currently recruiting for a Head of Sales to join the Scotland & North East region.

As Head of Sales, reporting to the Regional Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an effective regional sales strategy. This includes managing Business Development Managers and Internal Sales Managers, ensuring robust and consistent sales processes, and leading a motivated sales team focused on maximizing revenue.

This is an exciting role requiring an experienced and successful sales leader who can demonstrate passion, confidence, credibility, and focus in leading teams.

You will need proven success in managing regional sales teams, experience in influencing and building relationships with senior management, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate strategic vision into action.

This role involves frequent travel across the Scotland & North East region to all depots.


Responsibilities include:

1. Developing and maintaining customer relationships to win business for Nationwide Platforms.
2. Identifying and pursuing opportunities for new lines of business, including new growth sectors and customers, aligned with the business development strategy.
3. Contributing to the team’s budget planning.
4. Managing a team of sector specialists, using measurement tools to ensure performance and improvement.
5. Overseeing the regional sales team in managing key mixed accounts.
6. Serving as the liaison between the UK Business Unit and BlueSky, addressing delivery, new product, supply issues, and ensuring effective communication.
7. Negotiating and managing contracts at all levels for mutual benefit.
8. Collaborating with other Nationwide Platforms functions to support business development.
9. Managing risks associated with key accounts.


Ideal candidate qualifications:

* Extensive experience in strategic sales management within plant and/or equipment hire environments.
* Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making ability.
* Excellent prioritization and deadline management skills.
* Effective communication skills, capable of delivering messages professionally at all levels.
