Senior Project Manager – Water and Environment
Reporting to the Water Project Management Delivery Lead for the UK, the Senior Project Manager will deliver work with water companies or the Environment Agency in the Midlands area, with potential to work in the North West of England in consultancy roles. There is potential for progression across the UK Water, Environment, Rail or Nuclear sectors. The role is part of Egis’s Energy and Sustainable Cities Business Line and supports the new P3M CM UK, Ireland and Europe team.
Role overview
This role requires knowledge and experience in pre- and post-contract management in NEC 3 or NEC 4 ECC forms and procurement within the UK water, environment, rail or nuclear sectors. The Senior Project Manager will use major project experience to drive efficiencies and effective supply chain engagement and contract management. Experience with Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and/or Early Subcontractor Involvement (ESI) in design and build major capital programmes is desired.
Role responsibilities
* NEC3/4 Option A, Option C, Option E ECC contract management and administration client side
* Budget control
* Collaborate with the Quantity Surveyor on payment valuations and certifying monthly payments under ECC and PSC forms of the NEC 4 contract
* Actual cost forecasting and Defined Cost determination in collaboration with the QS
* Establish and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Maintain project management and commercial records aligned with contract requirements; oversee contractual issues
* Draft contract communications and notices, including Early Warning Notices, Compensation Events, and general communications in line with best practice
Pre-Contract activities
* Conduct initial project scope planning, cost estimates and feasibility studies
* Prepare tender documentation
* Evaluate tenders
* Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
* Collaborate with contractors early in the design phase
Post-Contract activities
* Manage and administer construction contracts
* Monitor project expenditure and cash flow
* Lead evaluation and negotiation of change orders or variations
* Claims and dispute resolution
* Final accounts and post-project evaluation
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a numeric discipline
* Full membership of a chartered body such as APM (MAPM)
* Extensive postgraduate experience in Rail, Nuclear, Water and/or Environment sectors
* Line management and recruitment experience of Project Managers or Assistant Project Managers
* CDM regulation knowledge and experience
* Risk management experience
* Valid CSCS card; Water Hygiene Card desirable
* Experience working client-side with main contractors and/or joint ventures
* Experienced user of the NEC3-4 contract suite (A-C-E)
* Right to work in the UK
