HR Business Partner – 6-Month Fixed Term Contract

Arriva UK Bus is undergoing an exciting period of transformation, and we are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to support this journey on a 6-month fixed term contract. This role will be instrumental in shaping and delivering the people strategy across multiple depot sites, with a strong focus on employee relations, cultural development, organisational change, and performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert support on employee and industrial relations, managing a high volume of ER casework with professionalism and consistency
* Ensure disciplinary and grievance processes are delivered in line with company procedures and employment legislation
* Support and participate in pay and policy negotiations and central committee discussions
* Build and maintain strong relationships with trade union representatives, acting as a trusted liaison
* Lead the engagement agenda across sites, working with leaders to improve employee experience and performance
* Deliver all core HR processes: performance management, absence management, pay and bonus reviews, talent reviews, and succession planning
* Partner with operational leaders to reduce attrition, improve retention, and implement change programmes
* Support recruitment standards and partner with CoEs as needed to deliver effective resourcing
* Contribute to the broader HR strategic plan, leading and supporting local and national HR projects
* Provide data insights and reporting on ER, absence, and workforce trends to support proactive decision-making
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor role
* Strong understanding of employee and industrial relations in a unionised environment
* Experience supporting multiple sites or a regional HR remit
* Demonstrated ability to coach, influence, and build relationships with operational leaders
* Experience delivering change initiatives, organisational development, and HR projects
* Strong attention to detail, professional judgement, and the ability to manage competing priorities
* Confident in using HR data and analytics to support business improvement
* Resilient, proactive, and solution-focused in approach
