Quality Engineer salary: £43,000 – £52,250

Quality Engineer Overview:
Own day-to-day non-conformance control: concessions, returns and corrective actions
Produce and report monthly quality KPIs and trend data to drive improvement
Lead internal audits and support external audit activity through to close-out
Maintain inspection and calibration discipline across production and goods-in
Support customers on QA/technical issues and submit FAIR packs to required standards
This Quality Engineer role reports to the Group Quality Manager and sits at the centre of day-to-day quality control, customer-facing quality activity and compliance. The Quality Engineer will manage quality issues through to closure, maintain strong control of inspection/calibration and audit activity, and support improvement using KPI reporting and corrective action trend analysis. The Quality Engineer will also liaise with customers on QA matters, support customer-driven improvement initiatives, and deputise for the Group Quality Manager when required.
Day-to-day responsibilities of a Quality Engineer
Manage day-to-day quality issues and containment activity
Raise and submit customer concessions, monitor progress and drive close-out
Manage job card material sign-off and inspection discipline
Produce monthly quality KPI data and report performance trends
Analyse and report corrective action trend data
Manage customer returns and submit corrective actions for customer returns
Monitor internal corrective actions and manage closure activity
Manage purchase order returns and related quality documentation
Liaise with customers on QA and technical issues
Support customer-driven quality and improvement initiatives
Promote 5S improvement within the leadership team
Ensure calibration records are maintained and kept up to date
Conduct internal audits and support external audit activity
Assist investigation and resolution of audit deficiencies
Check and submit customer FAIR packs
Deputise for the Group Quality Manager when required
Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance and HSE policies and procedures at all times

Quality Engineer experience in a manufacturing environment with strong non-conformance and corrective action control
Confident customer-facing communication around concessions, returns and quality issues
Comfortable producing KPI data, trend analysis and using quality data to drive improvement
Internal auditing experience and ability to support external audits through to closure
Strong discipline around inspection, job card sign-off and calibration record control
Organised, methodical approach with strong attention to detail and follow-through
Quality systems and controls this Quality Engineer will support
