An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced staff nurse for the Centre for Urgent Care (CUC) and Royal Marsden Hotline (RM Hotline) based at the Chelsea site. We are looking for an outstanding individual to join a team of highly experienced nurses who provide excellent nursing care and strive to make a difference.
About CUC and RM Hotline
1. CUC is open Monday to Friday from 0800 - 2030 hours, providing advanced nursing care to patients presenting with acute symptoms related to their disease or treatment. It supports patients on an ambulatory care pathway and provides care for elective patients booked for day case procedures.
2. The Royal Marsden Hotline (RM Hotline) is a 24/7 telephone service offering patients a single point of access for support when they become unwell due to their disease or treatment.
Role Responsibilities
* Work across both CUC and RM Hotline, requiring excellent clinical decision-making and diagnostic skills to manage patients in person and via telephone consultations.
* Provide a coordinated and efficient service to acutely unwell patients.
* Collaborate with medical colleagues, advanced nurse practitioners, clinical and non-clinical staff across the trust, and external agencies to ensure seamless care across primary, secondary, and tertiary settings.

Key Responsibilities
* Explain and expand on clinical diagnoses, prepare for investigations, and implement treatment plans.
* Assess educational and informational needs of patients and families, providing evidence-based information for safe management.
* Use a problem-solving approach to symptom management to minimize adverse reactions.
* Administer/check intravenous antibiotics and supportive therapies, including blood products.
* Administer medicines in accordance with NMC 2018 standards and hospital policies.
* Collaborate with the clinical site practitioner team, CUC, and liaise with medical, surgical, and other specialist teams to initiate appropriate care.
